Andrea MacGovern
Educational Disability Advocate
Helping families understand their rights, navigate special education, and advocate for the educational support their children deserve.
Welcome
Navigating the special education system can feel overwhelming. Parents are often faced with meetings, evaluations, IEPs, 504 Plans, school procedures, and terminology that can be difficult to understand.
I work with families to help them better understand the special education process, prepare for meetings, communicate effectively with their child’s school, and advocate for appropriate educational services and accommodations.
My goal is simple: to help parents become informed, prepared, and confident advocates for their children.
Who I Help
I work with parents and families of students who may be experiencing challenges involving:
Learning disabilities
ADHD and attention-related difficulties
Autism spectrum disorders
Dyslexia and reading difficulties
Emotional or behavioral needs
Speech and language needs
Developmental disabilities
IEPs and special education services
504 Plans and accommodations
Evaluations and eligibility
Appropriate educational placement and support
You do not need to understand every special education rule or term before asking for help. That’s what advocacy is for.
